Careers Adviser

 

Our full-time Careers Adviser assists in subject choice, co-ordinates work experience for all boys in Year 10 and offers career guidance on employment, TAFE and University courses.

Careers Education

 

Career education for Year 10

 

  • To have self-knowledge
  • To be realistic about abilities
  • To make career decisions based on the above
  • To have an action plan to achieve that goal
  • To acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to implement those goals/decision.

     

Career education for Year 11 and 12

 

  • To individually help prepare Year 11 and Year 12 students for their post-school future.
  • To collectively help students with career preparation.
  • To update material (written and visual) for the Careers Resource Room.
  • To co-ordinate TAFE-delivered VET courses for students (accessing course at other schools).
  • To organise Work Experience for interested students in year 11 or 12
  • To help and advise with subject selection and HSC and UAI requirements.
