Industrial Arts

Years 7 & 8


All students’ study a mandatory 200-hour course in Technology. Each year they undertake 4 contexts of work and experience working with food, metal, plastics, wood and graphical design.

Years 9 & 10


Students may elect to study in one or two of the following 200-hour courses:
Food Technology
Industrial Technology - Timber
Industrial Technology - Multimedia
Information & Software Technology


Years 11 & 12


Students may elect to study in one or more of the following courses:
Industrial Technology - Multimedia
Industrial Technology – Timber Products & Furniture Industries

All are 2 unit courses, with Industrial Technology having a category B classification for the Higher School Certificate.

Vocational Education & Training


The faculty also offers Construction & Information Technology as a 240-hour curriculum framework course.  For 2007, Hospitality will be introduced in Year 11.  Students are able to attain AQF Certificate in General Construction. 70 hours during the course are spent in work placement in an industry related to construction.


Like Industrial Technology, this course also has a category B classification for the Higher School Certificate
